DJ Jim Burgess - Live At 12 West (NY) - Swan Of Tucnela - 11-5-77 (Jim Hopkins Remaster)

From the Alan Harris/12 West tape archives. This tape was difficult to transfer, due to the tape particles shedding off while converting. It was lightly shedding (which is not common for Maxell tape), but I was able to digitize the reel after stopping the tape quite a few times to clean the shedding particles from the clogged tape heads. The sections were then edited back together to reconnect the mix. Alan Harris wrote: Recorded Saturday night 11-5-77. The week after his munumental performance on Halloween weekend. Jim started the evening with this classical piece, which was in keeping with his lifelong desire to be a classical opera singer. The evening turned into a collection of incredible music and mixesd, and another unforgettable evening and morning with Jim. As difficult as we all thought it would be for him to follow his performance of a week earlier, he once again proved he was the Master Of The Turntables. The people who did not attend Halloweenweekend showed up in force to enjoy the night. Approx. 1800 came though the Saturday night and morning.
