This is our Solidarity Saturday episode and we are honored to welcome to the platform the dynamic hip hop mind of a legend who comes to us in the righteous name of DJ Johny Juice.Born in New York City, Raised in the Boogie Down Bronx, transplanted to Strong Island...DJ Johnny Juice physically, emotionally, and mentally embodies Hip-Hop. He is a Graf writer, B-Boy, MC, and DJ. In the mid-80's, Johnny Juice moved to Strong Island and formed a crew with MC's KBMC and Chill O Ski. These MC's would go on to become Charlie Brown and Busta Rhymes of Leaders of the New School. Juice would win a DJ contest put together by Carlton Ridenhour aka Chuck D and Hank Boxley aka Hank Shocklee and become DJ and MC for Next Plateau recording artists The Kings Of Pressure. During this time, he would become the ghost scratcher and member of the yet-to-be-named "Bomb Squad." Juice would go on to scratch and/or add production to some of Hip-Hop's greatest albums.... Public Enemy's Yo! Bumrush the Show! and It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back, Slick Rick's The Great Adventures of Slick Rick, L.O.N.S.'s A Future Without A Past...and many, many more. Currently composing music for film, producing albums, mentoring youth, continuing his martial arts and meditative studies, and is also the Global Vice President of The Bronx Boys Rocking Crew.
