J-Thuro is a (hip-hop) artist born and raised in the Flatbush/Crown Heights area of Brooklyn, NY and is of Guyanese descent. Many call this area of Brooklyn the Carribean NY. Growing up in the 1980's & 90's was tough for J-Thuro. He witnessed a lot of mayhem growing up which shaped his storytelling style of rhyming. J-Thuro attributes his being one with rhythm and his writing knack to the times when his mother left the radio on all day in their home to prevent potential robberies. This situation started J-Thuro's passion & love for music. When J-Thuro heard the likes of Big Daddy Kane, LL Cool J, Nas, The Notorious B.I.G., 2 Pac, Jay-Z, plus many more on the radio that sealed the deal in J-Thuro wanting to make his own stamp in music.
