We recently lost one of our greatest composers of modern times: Ryuichi Sakamoto. He’s composed timeless soundtracks, innovated and pioneered so many genres, collaborated with some of the best, founded the synth pop group Yellow Magic Orchestra, and so much more in his 40+ year career. Even if you don’t recognize the name, you’ll recognize his works. This tribute mix touches on some of my favorite pieces by him, from David Bowie and David Byrne soundtracks to modern movies like The Revenant.
