I highly recommend you start a podcast because at one, builds your body of work, two, builds your network, three, builds your soft skills like curiosity and communication. But you don't have to quote become a podcaster. Just commit to five episodes, then put those five in a frame.
Boom. This is one of my favorite pieces of advice that we give at career hackers. And I give it frequently because oftentimes we need repetition to let something sink in. I'm aware of that as a seasoned educator.
Hopefully, I'm appealing to your intrinsic motivation, showing the benefits of this idea of starting a podcast and also making it easier on yourself. You don't need to commit to this indefinite long term project. You can say, I'm just going to create five episodes. Say you're interested in UX UI design.
Look up some people who have a few years experience in that field on LinkedIn and then send a personalized message and see if you can have an interview with them. They're probably going to say yes because most people don't get asked on podcasts and it's kind of exciting to talk about yourself. And then you can build your network. You can build your body of work.
And you just do a few episodes. It's really simple. There's all sorts of articles on career hackers about how to do this and slow hanging fruit. How to get a job next week by doing highly valuable free work.
