Then there's the annual Daptone Records holiday single, from Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings this year. We added two gems from The Blind Boys Of Alabama, one featuring the great Mavis Staples on guest vocals and the much-adored keybards king John Medeski on Hammond B3 organ, and another lifted from their recent xmas album with Taj Mahal. James Brown is here too. The man left us on a christmas day a few years back so we can't pass on having Papa James featured with a soulful xmas song.
