Deuteronomy 32:28–52, the second half of Moses’ song, where we see the larger plan of God, to use the faithless nations to punish faithless Israel, and then to punish the faithless nations for their faithlessness and cruelty! The lesson: it’s all from the Lord, who alone is God. Matthew 20:17–34, James and John will drink the cup of the Lord, they will follow Jesus in his footsteps, but where those footsteps lead is up to the Heavenly Father.
