DNA — Be the Branch

Opening a series on the church's core values, this message sits with Jesus and the disciples in John 15 , where he calls himself the true vine. The word matters: Israel was the original vine in Psalm 80 and Isaiah 5, planted with care yet yielding bad fruit, so Jesus presents himself as the vine in which life is finally found rightly. The Father is the active gardener, not absent but pruning — cutting away dead and counterfeit branches, and trimming even good branches back hard so they bear more. The repeated command is remain , a word picturing an infant clinging to its mother. The application defines fruit as Christlikeness expressed through love — love with time, love with treasure, love that lasts — and asks the connected branch a direct question: how is your fruit?
