Their work was very hard and very long.As the number of Israelites grew, the evil Pharaoh was even more worried that they soon would outnumber the Egyptians and take over their kingdom. So the Pharaoh made a cruel and terrible decision. He said that all of the baby boys of the Israelites must be killed.After Pharaoh made his new law, an Israelite woman gave birth to a baby boy. She took care of him and kept him hidden from the Egyptian authorities for three months. But soon the baby boy became too big to hide any longer. To try and save her son from death, the woman hid her baby in the basket and sent it out on the Nile River.After a short time, the daughter of Pharaoh​ came down to the Nile to take a bath. The princess saw the basket floating and sent her servant to bring the basket to her. The baby boy cried when the princess opened the basket, making the princess feel compassion for the little baby. Finally, she took the baby and raised him as her own by naming him "Moses".
