Do Christians Ever IDOLIZE Salvation??

from Truth Be Told · host Micah Gunn

Do Christians sometimes love salvation more than the God who saved them? Salvation is one of the greatest gifts ever given—but what if it was never meant to be our ultimate goal? In this episode, we explore a challenging question: can salvation itself become an idol when our deepest desire is simply to be safe, avoid judgment, or make it into the Kingdom? Scripture calls us to much more than self-preservation. Men like Moses and Paul were so captivated by God's purpose that they were willing to sacrifice their own comfort—and even their own salvation—for the sake of others. The Bible speaks of those who have been saved, are being saved, and will be saved. Salvation is a process that reconciles us to God, but reconciliation was never the end of the story. We are saved for something. God is creating a family, bringing many sons and daughters to glory, and inviting us to participate in His work. We'll discuss: -Why the Christian life can become stagnant when our primary focus is simply "making it" AND -How everything changes when God Himself becomes our greatest desire. Drawing from Scripture, the Westminster Shorter Catechism, and Jesus' own words in John 17:3, we'll examine what it means to glorify God, enjoy Him forever, and find our purpose in knowing Him. Salvation is not a trophy to place on a shelf. It is a gift meant to be used. The question is: what are you doing with it? Check this episode out as we consider why God saved us, what He is accomplishing in the world, and how our lives can become aligned with His purpose rather than merely our own security.   Email: [email protected] YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TruthBeToldYouTube Logo: Matt Hernandez Music: Acoustic Indie Folk Years By MarkJuly   #ChristianPodcast #Christianity #BibleStudy #Faith #JesusChrist #ChristianLiving #BiblicalTruth #Discipleship #Gospel #KingdomOfGod #Salvation #EternalLife #KnowGod #LoveGod #FollowingJesus #ChristianGrowth #SpiritualGrowth #FaithJourney #BiblicalTeaching #ChristianDiscussion #PurposeInChrist #GodsPurpose #GlorifyGod #ChristianMotivation #Theology #ChristianTheology #ChristianWorldview #KingdomMindset #FaithOverFear #LivingForGod #John173 #WestminsterCatechism #GospelMessage #ChristianEncouragement #BiblePodcast #FaithPodcast #JesusIsLord #ChristianContent #BiblicalWisdom #ChristianCommunity #DoYouKnowGod #WhyDidGodSaveUs #MoreThanSalvation #RelationshipWithGod #ChristianQuestions #DeepFaith #ChristianPerspective #KingdomLiving #LoveGodFirst #CreatedForPurpose
