Wednesday Eve is the night of parables. Christ uses parables to direct our attention toward watchfulness and attentiveness in anticipation for the judgement to come. Fr Isaac focuses on the parable of the five wise and five foolish virgins. While all appeared outwardly similar, the five wise virgins were prepared and able to answer the call of our Saviour.
