Do not let your hatred stand in the way of love

If we hate one person, no matter how despicable their behavior, then we are excluding everyone.Love isn’t conditional. If you love one person but not another, then it isn’t real love. Of course the form of our love - how we demonstrate it in our lives - is different for each relationship. But the underlying content of love is all-inclusive.This does not mean we tolerate or condone awful behavior in others (or ourselves). But what it does clarify is that if we ourselves are not at peace (e.g. we’ve chosen emotions such as anger or guilt) then there is no possible way we can respond from a place of love. And no possible way that we can be helpful in the situation.So whenever we find ourselves hating or being angry, we can remind ourselves that we’ve chosen our ego mind. When we instead choose the mind of the Holy Spirit - otherwise known as the mind of love - then we will be at peace. And from here, whatever words or actions are most helpful for the situation will automatically flow through us.In the inspiring words of A Course in Miracles, “Do not let your hatred stand in the way of love.” When we let go of the onerous weight of hatred, our love embraces everything, excluding no one. And the resultant peace we experience is extraordinary.Support the show
