Friar Faithful, Manny Machado has made it clear he is going to opt out of his remaining five year, $150 million contract with the San Diego Padres once the end of 2023 comes. However, that does not mean he will be in a Mets uniform or a Yankees uniform or anything like that. On this episode, Dominick DeRosa expresses his confidence that Machado will stay in San Diego long-term with a reconstructed contract even if he opts out to 'test the market.' Perhaps he explores the market to have the Padres make a significant offer. (Just as Aaron Judge did for the Yankees when looking into other teams.)
