"Do what I say"

I had words rather than a picture today - "Do what I say". Well, I can think of many reasons why, even as Christians, we don't want to follow Jesus's instructions - we are: scared; unconfident; doubtful that Jesus's reasons for what He has asked us to do are correct; do not consider the instructions to be wise and/or loving; not sure we heard correctly; have other priorities; would rather wait until another time, and the list goes on, with a final point being that starting from a very young age, humans simply do not like to be told what to do. However, if we have chosen to follow Jesus then trusting and obeying are important facets of discipleship. We are likely to falter and fail along the way, with Jesus always upholding us, but we will experience manifold blessings.
