Good morning everyone. This article titled, Do You Fear Breaking Routine? It was published in Dancing Elephants Press authored by me. The subtopic is, My Fear of Breaking My Confutable Routine is transformed into faith and belief in myself that I can adapt to a self-imposed change with confidence.
Hello my lovely readers. I'm committing to doing a 12-week homework program, version 1.0 by Heather Robertson, Observing in Body, Emotions and Mind and Writing about Life Lessons Learned. Today is Day 5, Week 5. In case you missed, and I would say a word because we both are you as a reader or as the listener are participating in my homework program because you're reading, learning the life lessons.
So in case you missed our previous parts, I have given link to all the previous parts and life lessons learned and taken away from Week 1 to Week 4. At Day 1 to Day 3 of Week 5, I've covered it in the article titled, I Never Thought Exercising Would Help Me Stay Inspired. And Life Lessons take away from Week 5, I have given link to few articles, the title, Value Your Monday Insurance Inspires You, Homeworkout or Walk Outside or Both, Number 2, Number 3, I Never Thought Exercising Would Help Me Stay Inspired and the Day 4 was, Do You Know What Tabara Means? I Love It.
Ok, coming to the content of this article. I did Day 5, Week 5 Exercising the Evening. Therefore, I had to take care of dinner preparation and not write immediately. You must be wondering, do I care?
Or what does that have anything to do with the life lessons from your home workout program? You and I are both right in our own way. Normally, I would complete the writing part immediately after doing the workout and share it on my WhatsApp status. On Day 5 of Week 5, I said to myself, Lalita, try breaking the pattern that you are used to and observe for yourself how you are keeping up your commitment to exercising and writing.
After I did that, my concerns came up as the following questions. Are you feeling stressed or guilty about not following a routine that you are used to? Are you sure you will remember the names of the exercises and experiences that will fresheen your mind if you break the routine and write later? There you go.
I resumed writing about Day 5 of Week 5 just now after two days. Let's revisit the two concerns I had. Are you feeling stressed or guilty about not following a routine that you are used to? Right now, I am feeling perfectly okay and neutral.
I am neither guilty nor ashamed of breaking the routine. I feel thankful and grateful to that higher power that moved me to complete the unfinished task of writing after two days. Next question was, are you sure? You will remember the names of the exercises and experiences that will fresheen your mind if you break the routine and write later.
As of my writing, I don't have the urge or pressing need or value to even remember or recall my experience of that day. However, I am so glad that I was able to complete all the day's exercises in week 5 and complete the writing part also. This is what my true authentic self wanted to accomplish. What did I learn from the experience of breaking my routine?
When you commit to doing something, you will have interruptions both from your own internal dialogue and from external circumstances. In life coaching, we are taught how to dissociate ourselves from that situation and ask questions in the second or third person and address the situation in order to remove any block that is holding us from going forward. What do I mean? Instead of asking, am I feeling or why am I feeling stressed or guilty about not following a routine that I am used to?
By saying I, you are associating yourself with the event slash emotions and are inside of that. Try asking this way, your name, I am going to say my name Lalita. Lalita, are you feeling or why are you feeling stressed or guilty about not following a routine that you are used to? So when you use the word, you, you are dissociating yourself from the event or experience and you can answer the question like how you will answer as a concerned and compassionate person to your friend's question.
Record and follow your answers boldly. Personally, when I dissociate from the event or experience, I find the shift from stressful, problematic thinking to more calm and centered strategic thinking. My shallow breathing transforms into deeper, slow breathing. My fear of breaking my comfortable routine is transformed into faith and belief in myself that I can adapt to a self-evoice change with confidence.
Today is my memory jogger. Hey, I remember inside outside row, renegade row, scapular squeeze, skull crush, take press, we press super woman, kickback row, burpees, tricep back extension. Now it is your turn to today's to try today's tip. Have a fantastic day and week ahead.
