The four-temperament theory is a proto-psychological theory that suggests that there are four fundamental personality types: Sanguine, Choleric, Melancholic and Phlegmatic. Phlegmatic. Melancholic people often are perceived as very (or overly) pondering and are both considerate and very cautious. They are organized and schedule oriented. Phlegmatic The phlegmatic temperament is fundamentally relaxed and quiet, ranging from warmly attentive to lazily sluggish. Phlegmatic tend to be content with themselves and are kind.
