Do You Know Who You're Looking For?

It is difficult to find something when you don't know what you're looking for. It is also difficult to recognize someone if you don't know them. Do we perhaps miss God because we don't study His word to know him intimately for ourselves? Could it be that is why we don't recognize him when he wraps himself in situations and circumstances that are not pleasant, and other than what we are expecting?
