Do You See Those That Are Hurting? | See the Needs | Acts 3:1-10 | with Pastor Joshua Sanders

from Christ Community Church (Brazil, IN) · host mycccbrazil

At some point, the standard answer to "how are you" changed from "fine, thanks" to "busy!" And it’s as if saying that we are busy has become a badge of honor in our society. Research from H&R Block showed that the common person claims that they only have 26 minutes of free time a week. Then a 2018 Pew Research survey revealed that six in 10 adults in the U.S. feel too busy to enjoy life. We have work, family, and all sorts of responsibilities in life that keep us busy to the max! And our culture encourages the grind & hustle and to never take time to slow down. Then not that we mean to, but this busyness can cause us as Christians to become tunnel visioned and self-centered. This in turn can cause us to miss out on opportunities to reach out to the hurting people around us. Being in a hurry is always the death of kindness. In this sermon we dive into Acts 3:1-10. In these verses, we are going to see the Apostles continuing Jesus’ ministry in word and deed. We will see the deed of healing of a lame man that leads to a sermon. What we will see is that the early church slowed down and saw the needs of the hurting people around them. And to be a church that GETS AFTER IT, we can’t be so busy in our lives that we become self-centered. We have to make sure that we are taking the time to see the hurting people around us. We are called to reach out to those that are hurting.
