Dobie Gray vs Al Wilson
from Outta Sight Records' Podcast Hosted by Outta Sight Records
Outta Sight herald the Christmas season with two fabulous floor-packers from the glory days of Northern Soul. The perfect stocking fillers! Dobie Gray and Al Wilson are synonymous with Northern Soul… the most known, most loved and most danceable 45s to grace our decks. “Out On The Floor” has it all, the perfect lyric married to the perfect dance beat, and now made even better by having Dobie Gray’s perennial Mod/Soul classic – “The ‘IN’ Crowd” - on the flip side. These two icons of the scene are brought together for the first time… Northern Soul Heaven! Al Wilson’s “The Snake” is perhaps THE most played Northern Soul oldie ever! It first came to prominence at Manchesters’ famed Twisted Wheel Club and is now embedded in the scene along with patches, talcum powder and baggy trousers. It has graced many a TV and film soundtrack and is currently on rotation in every TK Maxx store in the country. Love it, hate it, you can’t ignore it! contact Jenny at Passion Music [email protected] Keep The Faith!
