Doc to the Lakers? Thybulle to the Bulls? Slop Season is Here featuring @BToporek

from You Know Ball: A (Mostly) NBA Podcast · host You Know Ball

Bryan Toporek from Forbes and Bleacher Report joined me to talk a whole lot of slop including: The Nets probably deferring the Sixers pick to 2023 which means the Sixers will have a first round pick and I will have draft content over the next few weeks! The Lakers are still interested in Doc Rivers for some reason which raises the questions ... do the Sixers really wanna keep him? Trading Tobias Harris is harder than it sounds due to many different factors so is it better just to keep him? The Chicago Bulls are interested in Thybulle but what can they really give up for him? Also, we explore some fake Thybulle trades (that might have to include the 23rd pick) that could net the Sixers some rotation player(s) back. For the last 30 minutes of this episode we did a league wide slop round up and talked about rumors surrounding Deandre Ayton, Zach Lavine, Russell Westbrook, Jerami Grant, Bradley Beal, the Blazers, Kings and more! Unfortunately the Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant news came out after we recorded so more on that next episode. Marty Teller made his triumphant return to the podcast to discuss all things Sixers offseason, like we always do. First, we discussed the re-litigation of the Jimmy Butler Sixers era and why there is some revisionist history with the whole situation from fans and even Jimmy himself. After that we dove into the idea of Morey "star hunting" again and talked about a few different targets who could possibly be the third or fourth star on next year's Sixers. We then discussed whether this strategy was worth it or if the team should focus on building the team's depth through free agency, trades and the draft instead. From there we discussed Harden's new (possibly discounted) contract, Tobias Harris and Matisse Thybulle trades and some targets that we would have in those deals. We finished the episode talking about our favorite free agent targets that the Sixers could target to build their depth. Enjoy!
