In today’s episode, KT talks to Dr. Calvin Sun, who’s a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician, public speaker, world traveler, and entrepreneur based out of New York. Calvin attended Columbia University for his undergraduate studies and then went on to study medicine at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. Last year, he wrapped up his residency training at Jacobi Medical Center, where he also served as Director of Resident Wellness. He travelled over 160 countries over the course of medical school and residency without skipping class or missing any shifts. Calvin is currently working Locum Tenens as an Emergency Medicine physician for some of the busiest ERs & Trauma Centers in the country. He is also the Founder & CEO of The Monsoon Diaries: a blog-turned-travel company where he has personally taken hundreds of readers to a variety of countries, including places like North Korea, Chernobyl, and Antarctica. The Monsoon Diaries has been featured on Business Insider, USA Today and Rachel Maddow.
