On this episode of Being Authentic AF, we talk with Melanie Spencer about her authenticity journey in launching her food photography business: Morsel Envy. Melanie’s journey has actually involved the achievement of two childhood dreams: since 4th grade, she knew she wanted to be either a photographer or a flight attendant. After graduating college, she pursued both—spending seven years in the air while also working at a local portrait studio. As her family grew, her career shifted and she juggled a mix of creative and flexible jobs—including direct sales and photo editing. It wasn’t until 2021 that Melanie found what she describes as her most authentic fit: food photography for bloggers. What started with an online course and a Facebook ad quickly turned into client work and, ultimately, the launch of her business, Morsel Envy.
