Dodgeball Rewatch + Review | Classic or Problematic?
from In-Between Media
This week on The Superlatives we went back and rewatched Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story over 20 years later, and we've got a lot to say about how it holds up. Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller's underdog sports comedy was a certified 2000s classic, but comedy from this era doesn't always age the way we remember it, and we're digging into what still works and what doesn't. We're breaking down the movie's best gags, why Stiller's White Goodman is still one of the great comedy villains, and the ESPN commentary bits that hold up better than almost anything else in the film. We're also getting into some of the jokes that land very differently in 2026, how the movie treats certain characters and punchlines, and whether the film's heart under all the absurdity still makes up for its rougher edges. Is Dodgeball still a comedy classic, or does nostalgia carry more weight than the movie deserves? We're giving our honest, no-holds-barred verdict. Let us know in the comments if you agree or if we're being too harsh. 🔔 Subscribe for more rewatch reviews every week! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
