Does Cycling Cause Low Back Pain? | Episode 26

from Low Back Pain Podcast · host Dr. Grant Elliott

Dr. Grant Elliott with RehabFix Online Low Back Program: Does cycling cause low back pain? Many individuals with low back pain, disc herniation, or sciatica may find it difficult to get back on their bikes and push themselves like they used to. This is often assumed due to the flexed position they are in since when riding a bike most individuals are in a hunched over position and many individuals with these low back issues find difficulty bending forward or being in a flexed position for long periods. In this episode, I discuss if cycling does in fact cause low back pain, if you should avoid cycling when dealing with low back pain, or if you should avoid cycling at all! As always, if you are struggling with any low back issues that are holding you back from doing the things you want to do, you can work 1-on-1 with me by submitting an application using the link below!
