Does Patriotism Make Any Sense?

Nathan is out this week so Michael takes the reins to ruminate on a hot topic at the start of every July: Patriotism. We talk about Patriotism on this show somewhat regularly, as Michael and Nathan do consider themselves patriots. But when things are so bleak, and seemingly getting worse, what good is patriotism? Does it really make sense anymore? Can anyone in our national, aware of all of the challenges we face and how frequently we fail to meet them, reasonably be patriotic?
