Does Unanswered Prayer Mean You Lack Faith? 2 Corinthians 12:8

from Daily Hope with Pastor John S. Dickerson · host John S. Dickerson

What if you pray for healing—with faith, repeatedly—and the healing never comes? Many Christians wrestle with this painful question. Some have even been told that if they had “enough faith,” God would heal them. But Scripture tells a more honest and hopeful story. In today’s Daily Hope, Pastor John S. Dickerson looks at 2 Corinthians 12, where the apostle Paul describes his “thorn in the flesh.” Paul prayed three times for God to remove this suffering, yet the healing never came. Paul’s experience reminds us that unanswered prayer does not mean a lack of faith. Sometimes God chooses not to remove the difficulty—but He promises to bring good from it. If you’ve prayed for healing and it hasn’t happened yet, you don’t need to live under shame or guilt. You can continue to trust God, knowing that His grace is sufficient and His purposes are good even in the middle of suffering. If this message encouraged you, share it with someone who may be walking through illness or hardship.
