Doing it Right! Ep. 93 | Dr. Kathryn Waldrep, Co- Founder Vernon & Waldrep OB-Gyn Associates

from Doing it Right: The Stories that Make Us · host RNCN

When a woman tries to crack the male dominated medical industry – it’s never easy. Dr. Kathryn Waldrep and her partner Kim Vernon did what any determined, highly accomplished women would do. They started their own practice, went head to head and never looked back. Now they can boast as being the first female OB/GYN practice in Dallas. As an aside – when Dr. Waldrep entered the studio as my guest, she had been up all night delivering a baby – one of over 6,000 to date. Tune in to hear humorous stories as a working mother of 3, her challenges overcoming COVID restrictions and how she maintains her happiness quotient during stressful situations.TPOVS:-God has a calling for each of us. Following that calling is when we are most fulfilled 2:00-Pray before you do! No one is smart enough to effectively counsel others without divine help. 16:44-Don't expect that you can "have it all." There are always tradeoffs in making wise decisions you feel are best at the moment. 11:54-Always be willing to give 110%. As a physician, I am expected to be the MOST competent, the MOST caring, and the MOST prepared to serve others. You should approach whatever you do the same. Just do things right to the best of your ability. 9:05-Happy people are those who serve others. As humans, we all have times when we are downhearted-even depressed. The best medicine is to allow yourself to feel them, but only for a few moments. Then get up and find someone to serve. Making someone happy lifts your spirits and takes the sting out of self-pity. 22:00#DoingItRight #ValerieSokolosky #KathrynWaldrep #Doctor #Medicine #COVID #OB-GYN #Education #Expert #Podcast
