DOJ withdraws subpoenas to get NYT journalists to testify

from KNX News On Demand

The Department of Justice has withdrawn a series of subpoenas that attempted to force several New York Times journalists to testify about their sources and provide access to their phone records. The move came after a US District Judge said he would quash the subpoenas if the DOJ refused to withdraw them. The DOJ released a statement saying, "this investigation remains ongoing, and we will pursue justice against those threatening national security by leaking classified information." ABC News reporter Peter Charalambous talks about it with L.A.'s Morning News.
