Dolly Parton’s Legacy Lives On | Las Vegas News

Dolly Parton, music legend and cultural icon, has passed away at 80 in Nashville, leaving the world in mourning. Her family confirmed she died peacefully, with a heartfelt video message from her nephew revealing she’d planned the announcement years ago — a touching nod to her enduring connection with fans. Just days before, she’d been hospitalized after recent health struggles including dizziness and dehydration, which forced her to cancel performances and a Las Vegas residency. Despite past health scares — even joking about not being ready to die — Dolly’s legacy remains monumental: a trailblazing singer-songwriter whose hits like “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You” sold over 100 million records, a savvy businesswoman, and a devoted philanthropist best known for founding the Imagination Library. Celebrities and fans worldwide are devastated, with President Trump calling for national flags at half-staff and Miley Cyrus calling it a devastating day for humanity. A private service will be held for her family, and donations to the Imagination Library are encouraged in her honor.
