She holds degrees in Marine Zoology and Behavioral Biology (B.S., M.A., Ph.D.) and serves as an Affiliate Assistant Professor at Florida Atlantic University. A Guggenheim and Explorers Club Fellow, Dr. Herzing has advised the Lifeboat Foundation and American Cetacean Society and sits on the board of Schoolyard Films. Her work has been featured in National Geographic, BBC, PBS, Discovery, and her TED2013 talk.
