Dom Flemons Listens Back to Prospect Hill (ENCORE)

In this special encore episode, Anthony Ihrig and Mother Banjo talk with Grammy-winning songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, music scholar, actor and radio host Dom Flemons. Performing around the world as "The American Songster," he joins us from his home in Chicago with his massive record collection to revisit his 2014 album Prospect Hill and the 2020 expanded re-issue Prospect Hill:The American Songster Omnibus. We talk about building organic beats, creating an extensive tintype photo series and cooking up a tasty reduction sauce of country, jazz, folk and blues.Recorded January 8, 2021.Featured Songs:Grotto Beat (Instrumental)Til The Seas Run DryToo Long I’ve Been GoneMarching up Prospect HillBig Head Joe’s MarchGeorgia DrumbeatShow Notes:https://backcataloglisteningparty.com/41🎉 Join the Party on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/backcataloglisteningparty Hosted on Acast.
