Domenic Esposito - The Opioid Spoon Project

from Westwood Living Podcast Network · host Tom Leyden

Domenic Esposito's story was our cover feature for the September issue of Westwood Living. After a successful career in finance, Dom turned his attention to sculpture and painting and has become one the top sculpters in the United States. His shift of focus to art was almost as unforeseen as his shift to becoming a spokesperson in the war against opioids. In 2018, he raised awareness of the pharmaceutical industry's role in the opioid pandemic by displaying an 800-pound metal opioid spoon he had created outside of Purdue Pharma in Stamford, CT. Suddenly, he was at the epicenter of a cause, serving as the ambassador for millions of families who have fought opioid use disorder. Domenic has big plans for his next project and spent part of our conversation talking about "The Memorial Doors Project," which aims to honor those who have lost their battle to opioid addiction.
