Current guidelines advocate for the use of multiple interventions to address the genetic, behavioral, and metabolic factors that contribute to insufficient weight loss or weight regain. Weight-loss pharmacotherapy is a recommended approach with distinct mechanisms of action that can affect different aspects of obesity pathophysiology.
