In the space of eight short years Dominique Thorne has gone from her big break in Barry Jenkins’ adaptation of James Baldwin’s If Beale Street Could Talk, to starring as RiRi Wiliams in Disney’s Ironheart series, with roles in Judas and the Black Messiah and Wakanda Forever along the way. The Brooklyn-born, Trinidadian has featured in hard-hitting, critically acclaimed smashes at every step. The 27-year-old joins us in the studio for the first time to talk about her early years, falling for Shakespeare, acting in Greek, and studying at Cornell and how her degree feeds into her craft today.
