Donald Trump's Takes on Canada, Greenland, and the Panama Canal

THE MEDICAL RECORD:  SHOULD WE HAVE CANCER WARNING LABELS ON ALCOHOL? Libby Znaimer is joined by Dr. Keith Stewart, Vice President, Cancer and Director of the Princess Margaret Cancer Program, UHN, Dr. Fahad Razak, General Internist at St Michael's Hospital in Toronto and Canada Research Chair in Healthcare Data and Analytics at the University of Toronto and Dr. Alisa Naiman, a family doctor practicing comprehensive primary care in Toronto. U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy is calling for cancer warning labels to be put on alcohol beverage products, pointing to the increased risk that alcohol consumption can have on cancers of the breast, colon, liver and more. Here are some staggering statistics: each year, alcohol consumption leads to 100,000 cancer cases in the U.S. and 20,000 cancer deaths. Murthy's office also explained that, "Alcohol consumption is the third-leading preventable cause of cancer in the United States, after tobacco and obesity, increasing risk for at least seven types of cancer." Murthy is also calling for a change to the guidelines for alcohol consumption limits so that people can weigh the very real risk of cancer. Speaking of beverages and their impact on our health, a new study published this week in Nature indicates that, globally, sugary drinks have led to roughly 340,000 deaths annually from Type 2 Diabetes and heart disease.  What does our panel think about all of that?
