Donegal TD Says Defective Homes Crisis Leaving Families Struggling to Afford School Uniforms

A Donegal TD has told the Dáil that families affected by defective concrete homes are struggling to afford school uniforms. Deputy Charles Ward says the ‘unbearable cost’ of the crisis, coupled with the soaring cost of living, is leaving parents facing impossible choices. He criticised schools for continuing to insist on expensive uniform items, despite a government circular urging cheaper options. Deputy Ward was speaking during Sinn Féin’s debate on the Affordable School Uniforms Bill.
