Don't be a Jezebel | The role of women
from This is the Day Rejoice · host Elizabeth Giles and Monika Walker
The extreme feminist and the extreme homemaker. Both styles are trending on social media. One makes men subjective to women, erasing as many roles of men as possible. The other - the extreme homemaker, also called a "trad wife" - centers around creating an impossibly perfect, unrealistic aesthetic, marking women who are unable to achieve this farce, as failures. The Bible gives us an intense "What Not To Do" lesson via the feminist, Jezebel, and her pouty king husband, Ahab. Jezebel was a mover and shaker though! She would have been adored today, with a thriving TikTok and Instagram account. Queen Jezebel took matters into her own hands, to make her husband happy. A few murders of righteous people to get the job done? No biggie in her eyes. Whatever it takes, right? She had girl boss energy that would be idolized in today's culture. But her wicked, sinful heart was deplorable to the Lord, and he left her to the dogs. Literally. 1 Kings 21:5-7 ________________________ When this is the day you're tempted to take over in a position you weren't made to do, remember Jezebel and her dishonorable fate. We aren't meant to erase men from history, or from the Marvel movies. We are meant to compliment them in our God-given roles, just as they are meant to compliment us, in their roles and responsibilities ordained by God. ________________________ Resources: Visit our shop for super one-of-a-kind designs that promote gospel centered conversations.
