You’re not out here trying to follow the advice of the wicked. So, let’s focus on the last part of Psalm 1, verse 1, the part of not being a scoffer. A scoffer is someone who mocks and ridicules, who holds others in contempt. Instead of trying to encourage and edify others, a scoffer discourages and disdains. It’s one thing to think critically. It’s another thing to always criticize. It’s one thing to be prudent and cautious. It’s another to be jaded and cynical.
