“Don’t ever talk again!” - Trump lashes out at MS NOW reporter in Oval Office
from Hope For America with Heather Delaney Reese · host Heather Delaney Reese
What happened in the Oval Office today should trouble every American who believes the presidency is supposed to be bigger than one man's ego. Military spouses and families came to the White House for an event meant to recognize their sacrifice, but President Trump turned it into a rambling display of self-praise, press attacks, threats toward Iran, insults toward our allies, and loyalty tests for the people around him. The people who carry deployments, moves, child care gaps, lost careers, and fear for their loved ones deserved dignity. Instead, they became the backdrop for a president who once again showed us how unfit he is to command the country, let alone the armed forces.Based on the events of 8-3-2026The Breakdown:* The Oval Office event was meant to sign an executive order creating the President's Military Spouse Commission.* Eighteen women and two men stood behind Trump as the event began, representing military families who carry real sacrifice every day.* Trump spent only about 14 minutes on the commission before moving into roughly 42 minutes of unrelated tirades.* Military spouses deserved serious attention on housing shortages, employment barriers, child care challenges, deployments, and repeated relocations.* Trump called his decision to add one dollar to a military bonus and make it $1,776 "one of my genius ideas."* He described the war with Iran as "working out very well" even as at least 18 American service members have been lost and more than 420 wounded.* Trump told Desiree Thompson Sayle that he should be entitled to gifts and money sent to the president, then pressed her to compare him favorably to President Biden.* He praised friendly outlets like One American News and the Washington Examiner while attacking MS NOW as "fake news" and telling a reporter, "Don't ever talk again."* Trump spent more time attacking Jeanine Pirro over the David Hearn vandalism case than he spent focusing on military families.* He said Pirro "choked" and "folded like an umbrella" after her office dropped charges related to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.* CNN reported Trump was furious with Pirro and that it was highly likely she could be removed from her job.* When asked about Representative Max Miller, who faces serious allegations from his ex-wife, Trump called him "a good person" and said he would let the families figure it out.* Trump allies are reportedly focused on whether Miller could lose a Republican seat, not on the gravity of the allegations against him.* Trump again claimed he had called off a massive strike on Iran after foreign leaders supposedly begged him not to attack.* CBS News reported no new Iran negotiations are planned, while Iran's foreign ministry denied talks were taking place.* Trump returned to calling Democrats communists and falsely claimed they want to abolish the Senate, Supreme Court, and presidency.* He told a GB News reporter that he knows Europe better than the people who run it, then called the United Kingdom essentially bankrupt.* He said any country with windmills is a loser, insulting allies who are still trying to keep peace while managing his instability.* The Supreme Court made final its ruling blocking Trump's attempt to strip birthright citizenship from children born on American soil.* Trump missed the deadline to seek rehearing in the birthright citizenship case, turning one of his loudest threats into another failed authoritarian push. This commentary represents my personal opinions and analysis of matters of public concern, informed by publicly available information.
