Don't Expect It To Be Easy

Sometime ago I was speaking with a younger gentleman who had just become a Christian and he asked me a very pointed question. He asked, “Why is being a Christian so hard? Why does it seem like it’s so difficult to follow Jesus in this world?” His question is a common one and I’m convinced it’s become more common today because in order to convince people to join the church or to become a Christian, many people try to present following Jesus to be as easy as possible, a sort of “easy-believism” that doesn’t cost us anything. This week, we’ll consider the incredible value and the personal cost of saying yes to Jesus.
