Don’t “Fuck The Pain Away”

from Raw Conversations with Corinne Blum · host Corinne Blum

Don’t “fuck the pain away” no matter how much our society encourages us to. No matter how much it lures us into distraction, numbing and the constant pursuit of happiness. Don’t “fuck the pain away,” because all that does is keep us in a relentless loop of dissatisfaction. The very thing we’re running away from, we’re producing. Avoiding pain doesn’t make it go away, it only keeps the chase forever going and one day, you will burn out. The only way out is through. And pain, like any other emotion, is simply a messenger alerting us to our human experience. Emotions are useful. They help us to understand the language of who we are. And on a deeper level, they’re an indication of something within us that just needs our loving attention. So don’t run, stay. Don’t numb, feel. Give yourself the loving attention you deserve. It’s hard, I know. It’s painful, I know. But you deserve to find and embody the very thing you’ve been seeking: peace. Not happiness but peace. Peace that shows you it’s ok to be who you are. To feel how you feel. Think what you think. There’s no more running. The chase ends. But it requires courage and courage requires heart and heart requires vulnerability and vulnerability requires presence and presence just asks us to stay long enough to be aware of what is going on within and around us. This and more in this episode... With love, Corinne
