DON’T GET CARRIED AWAY. John 2:10

from River of Life

Everyone in life seems to pose at their first contact with you a beautiful image of themselves. They try as much as possible to paint themselves good in a bid to probably win the saying ‘first impression lasts longer’, but people aren’t always what they present themselves to be, but how would you escape this trap and not be a victim of wrong association, group, friendship and the likes? This podcast offers you a clear principle that will guide your decision and help you discern, align and decide rightly. Let’s dive in.Imagine joining a new association or getting to a new place, job or the likes, you get to meet different kinds of people, now tell me. Is it possible that on the first day of meeting someone walks up to you and tell you “hey, you, look I’m the devil here, you’ll have me to deal with, I’ll show you pepper and all…”. That’s not very likely. Everyone first and foremost tries to make you feel welcome and show you the bright side of themselves. They want to make you see them as ‘good’ even if their life says otherwise. That’s exactly the picture Jesus was painting here at his first ever miracle which happened in Cana of Galilee. He turned water into wine and the chairman of occasion said this is the best wine alluding to the fact that, it is not common for people to keep the best till last, usually they give their best first and their worse later, but you have not done so. You didn’t hide it, you made known who are from the start and with time you showed you’ve always been good. Brethren, the above doesn’t always happen and if you’ll not be a victim of the first wine then here are a quick principle to live by. Be discerning - your inner voice such as loss of peace/joy is not some emotional tantrums sent to disrupt your plans, they are actually signals from your inner man sent to warn you of an impending or possible danger. You’ll be doing yourself a great disservice by ignoring them and concluding that all is well. Not every lion wear a lion face, if your spirit man says it’s not right don’t foolishly question your intuition. Patience - time they say heals all things, but it doesn’t just heal, time reveals. If you can be patient, no one can hide their true identity forever. Rushing to conclusions will lead you most often than not into error. Take your time to observe, study and decide for yourself what type of group, friendship, circle or association is this. Pray - prayer is not a mirage, it’s real. Proverbs 3:5 says commit your ways into the hand of the Lord and He will prosper you. None of us is as old as the ‘almighty’, there’s little to how much we know, seen, or can handle of our own but with the help of God, we can not only discern rightly but be victorious totally. Pray! When you’re sure, pray, when you’re not, still pray. Let God decide, it’s been proven that his decisions are best. Learn to wait on God to tell you what this is or who this is. Thank you for listening. God bless you. See you at the next episode of TheREVelation with Peter Aderinoye
