We’ve made mistakes and poor choices. We’ve sometimes acted in bad faith with a lack of discipline, integrity, and courage. Perhaps some of the good people in our lives have distanced themselves from us or walked away from us entirely. Perhaps the people we have surrounded ourselves with are just as broken and dysfunctional as we are. There is no human life that is beyond God’s redemption. None of us are too far gone. God works for the good in everything for those who love God and align themselves with God’s purposes and intentions. (Romans 8:28)The same love that saved the sinner hanging on the cross is available to us. The same power that raised Jesus from the grave lives in us. (Romans 8:11) It is this power that will transform us and eventually transform our circumstances. Certain doors may be closed and certain opportunities lost. But God offers new possibilities and purposes for us as God’s grace renews us daily. (Lamentations 3:22-23)Don’t give up on yourself. God hasn’t given up on you. I’m Horace McMillon.
