Don't Look Back:06/ 14/24

Good morning Happy Friday ❤️ Don't Look Back Our human nature sometimes have a tendency to look back or revisit those places which may have caused us hurt. We may also want to revisit a place or a situation that God took us from . You see , the thing we have to realize is that when God remove us from a place it simply means our time has expired and it's now a season for a new assignment. When we look back, it makes us become weak or not wanting to launch out to the other side. There is a story in the Bible found in the Genesis (13,18&19) am sure everyone is familiar with. God wanted to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah becauee their wickedness had come up to Him. So He went to Abraham to negotiate and ask him if he could find 10 people who were righteous in these cities, who would it be? Abraham search deep within and couldn't find that many. The only ones were his nephew Lot and his family. Abraham love his nephew Lot and wouldn't want to seem him destroyed. God also had other reasons why He spared Lot. Lot was considered a man with great faith in God and integrity. When God's angel came to the cities, Lot help save them from all the assaults/attacks which were coming at them. Lot was also disturbed by the wicked ways portrayed by the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. This story is a beautiful one and I would encouraged everyone to read it. Now, Lot and his family were given a very keen instruction when carried out of the city by the angels "DON'T LOOK BACK". Lot understood what that meant however his wife didn't. She ended up looking back and became a pillar of salt. Research indicates that "the angels warned Lot's family not to look back for two reasons. First, the extent of God's destruction was so great they had to flee to a smaller city some distance away not to get swept away. Second, looking back meant regretting the loss of the cities. The righteous Lot understood that despite the difficulties facing him without a home, getting to keep his life and his standing with God was worth much more than anything the cities of vice offered." (Verrett, 2023). God knows us best and if He takes us from a place of hurt and abuse, we must not look back. Many of us are on this journey with Christ 1 year, 2yrs, 3yrs, 4 yrs, 5yrs, 6yrs, 7yrs, even 10-20yrs, it maybe rough at times however we must keep reaching towards the mark of the higher calling of Christ upon our lives. God has everything we need. He knows when to release those things to us. The thing is we believe that the things in this world will make us happy but today I came to disrupt that notion. Without Christ WE ARE NOTHING. How can we leave a place of plenty to go back to hardship. Or inorder to gain access we got to compromise our righteous standards. Coming into God's kingdom will allow us to be stripped from all those earthly things. People of God, do not look back. Do not comprise your temple. Do not let loneliness cause you to deny the sacrifice Christ made for you. Don't let our human desires trick us to believe a life with easy access is better. God is a God of order and standards. Let us keep our eyes on Him. What shall we say then according to Romans 8: 38-39 [38] For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, [39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. 2 Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day Let us run this race that is set before us with patience and endurance.
