Don't Look Back (Gen 19.12-17) - 6-12-22

Scripture Texts are Genesis 19.12-17 and Philippians 3.12-21 from the subject “Don’t Look Back.”Instantaneously you are saved when you accept Christ as LORD and Savior. But you do not become spiritually mature on the spot. This takes time, and study, and a commitment to grow spiritually in your Christianity. And it takes consistent obedience to the LORD. You want to be blessed? Follow Christ and do as the Holy Spirit leads you… on God’s timetable. I believe that full obedience to the LORD would have saved Lot’s whole family. They were to run for their lives. They were to run to the hills or the mountains. Don’t stop in the valley. And whatever you do, don’t look back!Whatever your vice is, whatever your weakness is, Satan wants to exploit it. God is delivering you and Satan just wants you to look back. He says that it’s hard being a Christian. Why don’t you just look back and go back to your old ways. God says no! Don’t look back!Satan wants us to look back because he knows his place. Jesus has put Satan behind us. As long as we keep our eyes on Christ, as long as we keep pressing towards the mark, as long as we continue to approach the throne of grace, as long as we are led by the Holy Spirit, we have victory!Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Start it off with Christ, commit to follow Him, and don’t look back.Amen.
