Governor Greg Abbott mentioned that this stand-off could last for years, with Republicans claiming Democrats are just as guilty of redistricting manipulation. Vice President J.D. Vance even claimed Democrats have inflated census numbers by adding undocumented immigrants to blue states. In turn, Democratic governors have challenged Republicans, expressing their readiness to confront the redistricting issue while dismissing threats of federal law enforcement targeting Texas Democrats.
