Don’t Stand So Close to Me
from 3 Cops Talk - Rebuilding Community Trust Hosted by Chris Sherwin, Scott Thorsen & Shaun Ferguson
Scott and Shaun recap their summer adventures, with Scott returning from a trip to Norway and Shaun sharing highlights from seeing Rush in concert. The conversation then shifts to Ohio, where a newly enacted law makes it a crime to come within 15 feet of a police officer who is lawfully performing official duties after being ordered to stay back. The guys discuss the intent behind the law, the practical challenges of enforcing it, and whether measures like this can better protect officers while balancing the public’s right to observe police activity.
