Don't Take Advice From Anyone Doing Worse Than You

from The Renegade Writer's Mouthy Musings · host The Mouthy Renegade Writer and Jered Calabro

S2E73: The Renegade Writer’s Mouthy MusingsHey Everybody! I’m back with another episode of The Renegade Writer’s Mouthy Musings! It’s good to be here with you and to share another podcast episode. It’s been a wonderful day, once again.I was happy to do a video chat with one of my close friends, Jered Calabro. He’s new around these parts and a wonderful writer and friend. He wanted to pick my brain this morning about Substack. I love it when I can help a good friend with some advice and share my experiences about our platform. Please give him a free subscription if you wouldn’t mind. His writing about parenting is awesome, and having support early on during his first weeks on Substack would be huge. I’d consider it a personal favor if you supported him this way. I’ve had a lot of experience in giving and receiving advice. I’ve learned some things over the years regarding who you should take advice from. Generally, you want to seek that out from people who are doing better than you are. Sadly, too many folks seem to enjoy offering advice to people who didn’t ask for it. I can’t tell you how many people have told me that I was doing things the wrong way. Or they inform me of what they’d do if they were me. In today’s episode, I talk about who you should seek advice from and who to avoid in that department.I think you’ll enjoy this one, whether you’re a writer or not. It applies to many areas of life. Thank you for lending me your ears, I hope you find value in this episode! &:^)If you enjoy my daily podcast, please consider becoming a paid subscriber. It costs less than one Starbucks a month and it would be an honor to have your support. Thank you!
