Dori Durbin, CEO of Dori Durbin Books
from powherfull inc startup stories
Dori and I had such a genuine conversation, and I was sooo thrilled when she shared that after years of listening to what people said she should or should not do, she pushed it all aside and let herself go after what was calling her. This is what the startup journey is all about - letting your magic out. It seemed a natural fit to me for her to end up in kids books, but she says it "just sorta happened." How many of us can relate to that! She hired a coach to help her with launching her business and that strategy and support has helped her get clear on how to grow her business and how to market her offers. I love this because there can be an element of "not yet" as a startup, but really its always the perfect time for whatever you need. Save time and energy and just say YES to that voice inside.Dori is a Christian wife, mom, author, illustrator and a kids’ book coach who grew up most of her life in a rural town in Michigan. She holds a BA in English, a secondary teaching certification, a Master’s degree in Human Services specializing in Schools and Communities, and creatively educated high and middle school English and Science students for ten years. After experiencing a life-changing illness, Dori quickly switched gears to follow her dream in kids books, both art and writing. From there she has expanded to include coaching other authors with creating their kids books. She has written three children’s books of her own in a series called Little Cat Feelings Series: "Little Cat Needs Space," "Little Cat Feels Left Out," and "Little Cat & Dog's Birthday Bake: A Recipe in Caring” and will always own a furry horde of cats.Take advantage of her magical book skills with this freebie! https://leads.doridurbin.com/leadmagnet
