Dory Funk Jr Remembered Plus Fan Questions With Teddy Long

A school shuts down for snakes, squirrels, and raccoons, and somehow that still isn’t the wildest part of our Wednesday night. We kick things off with laughs and live-chat energy, then we take a real pause to honor Dory Funk Jr, a true wrestling legend whose name carries weight across generations of professional wrestling. Teddy Long shares the kind of grounded perspective you only get from someone who lived the road, worked the locker rooms, and saw what respect in this business actually looks like. From there, we spotlight what makes wrestling community different. We talk about Buddy getting a moment at a live show, why those experiences mean the world, and how the best independent wrestling promotions build loyal fans the old-school way. We also open the floor to your questions, bouncing from UFC and why Conor McGregor feels like a natural pro wrestling character to convention stories that prove a simple interaction can stick with someone for years. Then we go deep on the big names: the era of Andre the Giant, Big Show’s early WCW presentation, and the backstage reality of how ideas get floated. We also react to Brock Lesnar’s retirement and put his career in context, including how Paul Heyman helped shape the run and why Lesnar’s evolution changed how fans remember him. If you love WWE history, WCW memories, and straight talk about what works and what’s missing, you’ll feel right at home.Subscribe for more Wrestling’s Road Trip After Hours, share this with a friend who lives for wrestling stories, and leave us a review so more fans can find the show.
